To empower artists and impact audiences by partnering with Jesus to create Christ-centered films that change lives.
Highwater was founded by Seth and April Himes out of a shared love for Jesus, storytelling, and filmmaking.
For more than 25 years, Seth has worked in faith-based film production as a writer, director, producer, and filmmaker. That journey eventually led to the creation of The Deliverance of Amy Stronghold, Highwater’s first feature film, which premiered on Pure Flix and has continued to reach audiences with themes of salvation, freedom, grace, and redemption.
Through that experience, the vision for Highwater grew.
We didn’t want to simply make one movie at a time. We wanted to build a ministry that could bring together filmmakers, donors, volunteers, churches, families, and audiences around stories rooted in Scripture and grounded in real life.
Today, Highwater is building a community of Believers, Backers, and Builders who pray, give, serve, and help bring these films to life.
Our next feature, So You Want To Marry My Daughter, is currently in development. It represents the beginning of a larger vision to create a growing library of Christ-centered films that entertain audiences while pointing them toward truth, hope, and Jesus.
Highwater also exists to invest in people. We want to encourage and equip Christian filmmakers, create opportunities for emerging artists to grow, and build a creative community where people can use their gifts for the Kingdom.
We believe stories can change lives, films can point people to Jesus, and we can make them together.
