This week my focus has been simple: write pages and keep moving the new screenplay forward, one scene at a time. Next week I’m raising the bar with a goal of five pages a day, and while I stay focused on the creative work, we’re also praying for the right person to help lead the growing work of Highwater Christian Film Fund. Please consider becoming a monthly Backer at Highwater.app, and if you or someone you know might be a great fit for our Executive Director role, you’ll find the full job description below.

Executive Director

Highwater Christian Film Fund

Highwater Christian Film Fund is seeking an Executive Director who loves Jesus, believes in the power of film to impact lives, and wants to help build a growing Christian nonprofit from the ground up.

This position will begin as a part-time role with a small monthly stipend, with the intention of growing into a full-time, salaried Executive Director position as fundraising and the organization’s budget increase. We’re looking for someone who is excited to help build the organization they may eventually lead full time.

Location

This is a remote, U.S.-based position. Candidates in the Pacific Northwest are preferred, but we are open to the right person anywhere in the country. Occasional travel to Oregon may be needed for board meetings, fundraising events, productions, premieres, or team gatherings.

The Role

The Executive Director will work closely with the President and Board of Directors to develop the nonprofit and organizational side of Highwater, including:

  • Fundraising and donor development

  • Grant and sponsorship opportunities

  • Church, ministry, and organizational partnerships

  • Donor communication and relationship building

  • Nonprofit operations and administration

  • Volunteer and fundraising-team coordination

  • Board support and organizational planning

  • Developing systems that allow Highwater to grow sustainably

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has experience in nonprofit leadership, development, fundraising, or operations

  • Has a strong personal faith in Jesus and is aligned with Highwater’s Christian mission

  • Is entrepreneurial, organized, relational, and self-motivated

  • Can take a big vision and turn it into practical plans and systems

  • Enjoys building relationships with donors, churches, businesses, and supporters

  • Loves film and storytelling and wants to support Christian filmmakers

  • Is comfortable joining an organization in its early stages and helping build it

Highwater’s immediate focus is growing our donor base and raising the resources needed to produce our next feature film, So You Want to Marry My Daughter, while building a sustainable nonprofit that can support Christian filmmakers and produce many more films in the years ahead.

Our Mission: Empowering artists and impacting audiences by partnering with Jesus.

Compensation

The position will begin with a small monthly stipend and flexible part-time commitment. Compensation and hours will increase as funding grows, with the goal of transitioning the position into a full-time Executive Director role.

If you feel God may be calling you to help build Highwater—or you know someone who may be a great fit—we’d love to start a conversation.
