This week has been a challenge.

I’m working 45 hours a week at my job while trying to write a 100-page screenplay. Right now, I’m on page 35—and honestly, I think it’s amazing.

But 65 pages are still staring back at me.

So instead of backing down, I’m stepping it up. I’m going to write in the morning and in the evening until this screenplay is finished.

It feels impossible.

But with God.

That’s what our family lives for—partnering with Jesus to do the impossible. Creating something out of nothing to advance the Kingdom of Jesus.

And this story matters because it’s about family.

Family is God’s idea. So You Want to Marry My Daughter is a funny, heartfelt movie about a dad learning to let his daughter grow up and trust God with what comes next.

You’re witnessing this movie from the very beginning—from an idea, to page 35, and, Lord willing, all the way to the screen.

But we can’t get there alone.

While I’m writing, we’re praying for 100 new families to become monthly Backers of Highwater Christian Film Fund.

Those 100 families become the foundation for what comes next—turning words on my laptop into actors on a set, cameras rolling, and eventually a movie families can watch together.

Once we reach production, we plan to produce daily behind-the-scenes episodes and invite thousands more people into the adventure.

But that’s later.

Right now, it’s just our family, page 35, and an impossible task.

There’s something special about joining a story while it still looks impossible.

Will you be one of the 100 families who joins us now?

Become a monthly Backer at Highwater.app and help us turn these pages into a movie.
